Tell us a little about yourself

I’m a full time Mom and wife, I work full time at USAA, and go to school part time. Life is always crazy and as much as I tell myself I need a vacation, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

How did you get started with bodybuilding?

An old high school friend of mine, Christina Thome, first got the itch going. I ran into her after not seeing her since high school and the transformation she had made was amazing. A few months later, I saw a picture of this lady on the wall at the gym, I thought for sure she was about my age. As I read her bio I learned, she was actually 20 years older than me. I’ve always worked out but that was the cherry on the top to work more towards a goal. I actually met with my first coach (also her coach) that very day.

Where does your motivation come from?

Honestly my motivation has changed since I first started this journey. At first it was ALL about me, the changes I was making, and how I wanted to keep going. Now, my motivation is still (somewhat) about me but also my family. My kids are watching, I want to make sure they know you have to work hard for things you want in life and it will not just be handed to you.

What are some of your greatest achievements?

Going without a cheat meal for 12 weeks! Haha, seriously it can be hard. Following my meal plan I would consider a great achievement, because without that I definelty wouldn’t have won my Pro card.

What is your current training philosophy?

Take it day by day.

What are 3 tips you would give to someone trying to reach their goal physique?

  1. Take it day by day.
  2. Have fun with it.
  3. Nutrition is key!

What is your diet like? And does it differ on-season v. off-season?

In the past I would follow a meal plan- for offseason and prep. This offseason I’ve been doing IIFYM. For the first part of prep I’ll also do IIFYM but I may convert to a meal plan just because it has always done me good.

When trying to cut down what type of cardio do you do and why?

HIIT – I can get more out of cardio in a shorter amount of time. Anything, to get it over with!

What’s your Favorite Quote?

I swing big, with everything I got. I hit big or I miss big. I like to live as big as I can- Babe
