Tell us a little about yourself….
I am originally from Nigeria and moved to Texas at the age of 15, right after high school. Although I studied Economics at the University of Texas at Austin, I have always had a passion for health and fitness. I am a personal trainer and I channel my passion for cooking into my healthy meal prep service, Locomidasanas. I play quidditch competitively and also love to dance.
How did you get started with bodybuilding?
The first bodybuilding competition I ever attended was the 2018 San Antonio classic where my sister was competing for the first time. She placed first, then went on to compete in 3 more NPC shows and won them all. Fast forward 7 months later, March 2019, she won the Arnold’s Amateur overall and earned her IFBB pro card. I was inspired by her ability to dream big and the hard work, dedication, and discipline that enabled her to achieve those goals.
Where does your motivation come from?
Several members of my family experienced potentially life-threatening health issues that were all remedied by consistently improving their diet and exercise habits. Based on my personal experience, cultivating the discipline to be consistent with good nutrition and physical exercise enhances ones self-confidence immensely. I love inspiring people to lead healthier, happier and more fulfilling lives. It also helps that I’m competitive and love to win.
What are some of your greatest achievements?
Winning my first bodybuilding competition and turning pro at my second.
Winning the Quidditch National Championship
Graduating from UT Austin before my 21st birthday
What is your current training philosophy?
Find a way your body loves to move and do it! The universe rewards consistency.
What are 3 tips you would give to someone trying to reach their goal physique?
1. Be patient; set one goal at a time and commit whole-heartedly to it
2. Work hard and be consistent
3. Nutrition matters!
What is your diet like? And does it differ on-season v. off-season?
My diet stays relatively consistent throughout the year. I love to cook so I’m always finding new ways to prepare healthy alternatives to foods I love. During off-season I allow myself a lot more cheat meals.
When trying to cut down what type of cardio do you do and why?
HIIT. It’s always been my preferred form of cardio and it really burns calories.
What is your next goal?
Finish out the year strong! Grow during the off-season
