Tell us a little about yourself….
I have always been one to advocate getting the most out of everything from living the best life available to enjoying each moment, that includes not the happiest moments
How did you get started with bodybuilding?
There was a scene in the movie “John Q” starring Denzel Washington. The premise of the movie was in a father willing to do whatever it took to ensure his son was able to live. One particular scene the son told “John” he wanted to be like Flex Wheeler. I didn’t know who that was until I looked him up online. From that first viewing I was hooked
Where does your motivation come from?
The main motivating factor for me is my children. There is no greater feeling than knowing I am able to bring a genuine smile from my kids.
What are some of your greatest achievements?
One of my proudest moments is when I decided to finally pursue a career in personal training.
What is your current training philosophy?
Every time I get into the gym and begin my lifting I think to myself “what would I do if I knew I couldn’t fail.
What are 3 tips you would give to someone trying to reach their goal physique?
The only mantra I live by is listening to your body. Everyone is different and because of that there is a secret formula available that will work for only you.
What is your diet like? And does it differ on-season v. off-season?
I don’t like the word diet as I believe it holds a negative connotation. I am more a proponent of proper food combining.
When trying to cut down what type of cardio do you do and why?
I don’t do cardio unless it is moving from one machine to the next. My training regimen the entire year is intense with high volume everything.
What is your next goal?
The next goal in front of me is to win my next competition
What’s your Favorite Quote?
Two of the most important times in your life..the time you are born and the time you figure out why
