Tell us a little about yourself….
I love God, I love my family, and I love people! And some of you may not know this, but I am not shy at all! ;P Unless it comes to being serious. I really use my goofiness to help me step out of my comfort zone and plus I love making people laugh! It also makes me happy to see others succeed and I want them to know that I am their biggest cheerleader! God has a purpose for everyone, and I believe mine is to bring a smile to someone’s face who needs it!
How did you get started with bodybuilding?
It all started with a dirty 30 birthday goal
Where does your motivation come from?
My kids! I love having the energy to keep up with them and just be a crazy, fun mom!
What are some of your greatest achievements?
Becoming a mom, teaching my kids to love God and respect others, earning my Bachelor’s Degree with a newborn and graduating Magna Cum Laude, and earning my Pro card at my first show I had ever competed in! I am so grateful for all of God’s blessings in my life!
What is your current training philosophy?
I do whatever Jessica Williams (IFBB Physique Pro) tells me to do! 😉 Having a positive attitude and staying humble plays the biggest part in my training philosophy.
What are 3 tips you would give to someone trying to reach their goal physique?
- Again, stay positive and humble throughout the process. It is a process.
- Nothing ever comes easy, but if you want it bad enough, you’ll do what it takes to make it happen.
- Make it a fun routine and stick to that routine
What is your diet like? And does it differ on-season v. off-season?
There are certain things I can’t have due to healthy issues, like dairy, breads, pastas, etc. It took me some time to play around with my diet to find out what worked for me and what didn’t work. So, for the most part, some or most of the things I eat are generally the same, maybe just not eaten as frequently throughout the day!
When trying to cut down what type of cardio do you do and why?
Good question… because I HATE cardio, but it’s a necessary evil. I have come to love the Stairmaster vs running or doing the treadmill. I don’t get as bored as easily on it because I can kind of change up what moves and steps I take on it and it really makes it seem like the time goes by quicker.
What is your next goal?
I would love to work my way up to the Pro Athletic Division. Seems exciting, fun, challenging, and totally fits my personality!
